Understanding the Role
| What is a Precinct? |
What is a Precinct Delegate? |
|---|---|
|
The smallest political unit in the state. It is your neighborhood. All voters in a precinct cast their ballots at a single location. The precinct is where elections can be won and lost. It is your neighborhood. You know the people and what issues are most important to them. |
It is the active precinct delegate who wins close elections for the Democratic Party candidates. Precinct delegates serve as a bridge between the Democrats in your neighborhood and the Democratic Party.
|
Your Impact
- Inform & Engage: Bring information about issues and candidates directly to your precinct, and keep party leadership and candidates informed about your precinct's concerns.
- Register Voters: Help your neighbors get registered to vote.
- Turn Out the Vote: Encourage Voting at Home (Absentee)and Voting Early or on Election Day. We want to make sure Democratic supporters get out to vote by making a plan that fits with their schedules.
