From the ChairpersonIf this is your first time reading a weekly email from the Ingham County Democratic Party, welcome! We know many of you signed up at the wonderful No Kings Protest on Saturday. With less than 12 months to go before ballots go out to elect our next member of Congress, you have joined us at the right time. Most of the time, these emails will be sent out at 9 am on Monday mornings, unless there is something time-sensitive and important. We value your time and try our best to ensure that we only include what we feel is necessary, and only when essential. Each week, you can scroll down to see what upcoming events and activities we are planning, as well as events for our elected officials, candidates, and community partners. If you have questions, suggestions, or concerns, please reach out to us at [email protected] or leave a message at 517-939-9256. Someone will respond as soon as we can. Please understand that we are an organization of volunteers that have to balance work, life, and family responsibilities, which may cause a few days' delay in responding. It also means that we can always use your skills, experience, and interest to be more effective in lots of ways to help locally get out the vote for Democratic candidates and progressive proposals, because we care about our community. If you would like to make a donation, you can donate securely online to our administrative account here to help with our outreach and party-building efforts: Or mail a check to: In Solidarity, Brian P. Voter Protection/ Poll Challenger Training Using the 2025 Fall Elections to gain experience for Nov 2026 Virtual Training & Optional In-Person Follow-Up on Oct 24th This training is for those interested in being part of the Voter Protection Team to observe and report issues at Early Voting, Election Day, and at absentee ballot tabulating sites. Voter protection is now more than just Election Day, with 9 Days of Early Voting, thousands of mail-in ballots being tabulated up to a week before the Election, and precincts in operation on Election Day. Therefore, the ICDP Voter Protection Committee, comprised of Melinda Trotti, Jessica Dickenson, and Joanne Galloway, is collaborating with the Michigan Democratic Party to offer an opportunity for individuals to receive training, support, and scheduling as Democratic Party Poll Challengers. If you want to be part of the Voter Protection Team in FALL 2026, please click below and let the ICDP know. https://inghamdemsnationbuildercom-inghamdems.nationbuilder.com/voter_protection_training Those who sign up will be invited to a virtual training session and an in-person follow-up meeting on October 24th to address any follow-up questions. These sessions are not a requirement to volunteer in 2026, but we believe that they would make participants more effective poll challengers, especially those who have never done it before or only once. |
