December 8 Update

Friends,

Our Dec 17 Holiday Dinner Party is getting bigger!   We have sent invites to all formally announced candidates running in 2026, and our elected officials.

Already committed to attending are Congressional candidate Matt Maasdam, Attorney General candidate Mark Totten, Santa, and Nanna Claus, and we are waiting to hear back from more.

Even if the candidate is unable to attend, we have commitments, so far, to have representatives from:

  • Bridget Brinks, Will Lawrence, Matt Maasdam Congressional Campaigns
  • Abdul, McMorrow, and Stevens US Senate Campaigns
  • Mark Totten and Karen McDonald  Attorney General Campaigns
  • Barb Byrum Secretary of State Campaign

Please see the upcoming calendar of events below. To view event details and RSVP for the Holiday Party and other events, please click the link below to open the web page.

P.S. The Ingham County Democratic Party has not endorsed any candidates, and announcing their attendance or sponsorship should not be construed as an endorsement.

Brian P Jackson
ICDP Chairperson

Please join us for our end-of-the-year celebration. It will be a casual dinner with a brief program to recognize our ICDP Ted Lawson Volunteers of the Year, as well as our elected officials and candidates in attendance. Pictured are last year's winners, Susan Anderson and Karl Sime.

The suggested donation of only $10 per person for dinner from South Lansing local restaurants is due to our Holiday Party's generous sponsors:

  • Matt Maasdam Trident Values PAC
  • Our County Clerk, Barb Byrum, Candidate for Secretary of State
  • Friends of William Lawrence Campaign Committee

We thank these sponsors for their donations and hope to attract more sponsors. However, it does not constitute an endorsement of their candidacy.

If you are interested in being a sponsor, please email us by clicking here.

We have also invited all of our Democratic state, county, and local officials who represent parts or all of Ingham County. Already committed to attending are Congressional candidate Matt Maasdam and Attorney General candidate Mark Totten, and we are waiting to hear back from others.

For candidates or petition drives to reserve a table, please email by clicking here.

We also have Santa and Nanna Claus coming to this family-friendly event. Children of all ages are welcome to visit Santa and Nanna.  We want children to feel welcome, so feel free to reach out to us with what age and any suggestions on fun activities.

Lastly, we need a few volunteers to help with a variety of tasks in the afternoon and at the party. If you are able to help, please go to our Holiday Party Sign Up Genius webpage at
